About, no. 01

A foundation, not a promise

Quaric exists to hold, not to shine. Reading on means reading a text that does not run.

Genesis

Why Quaric?

Quaric was not born from a market opportunity. It was born from a long-held observation, years of silent research, and technical achievements that ultimately demanded a name and an institution.

  • The observation.

Quantum computing takes shape while the past of software remains alone, with no bridge to the present nor to the future. Post-quantum cryptography stays theoretical for most, and the Rust movement spreads without grasping anything of quantum at the root. Quaric grew out of that gap: making the past, the present and the future of computation talk to each other, without disowning any of the three.

    2018 — 2023
  • The exploration.

Research, readings, gathering of a large number of technical and scientific bricks into a single dossier. Tests, prototypes, continuous writing. No public communication: the project exists through what it documents and what it proves, not through what it announces.

    2018 — 2023
  • The development.

Intensive development phases. The project takes the shape of a programming language, a compiler and several back-ends that make the eras of software speak to each other: Rust, C, COBOL, OpenQASM. The past-present-future bridge is no longer an intuition: it becomes a tooling chain.

    2023 — 2026
  • The technical milestones.

GCC torture suite: 1500/1500. Tree-structured, self-regenerating, bio-inspired memory management with quantum-native encryption. Public formulation: OrganicAsCode. The technical proof is there, and it changes the nature of the project.

    2026
  • The name.

The project had no name: it had a direction, an exploration, a development. The name QUARIC was found in 2026. QU for quantum. ARIC is a personal anagram by Julien Gelee, founder, drawn from the first names of his wife, his daughter and his son.

    2026
  • The filing and officialisation.

QUARIC trademark filed at the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), 4 classes, 26 designations, word and figurative. Institutional site, manifesto published, collegial governance under formation. Quaric widens as the trajectory holds.

Mission

An end to end technological independence.

Quaric is a long form project, carried by a collective. Its mission is simple to state, demanding to hold : to lay the foundations of an end to end technological independence, from the physical substrate to software practice, from classical to quantum computing.

This independence is neither a withdrawal nor a slogan. It is a working condition. Without it, innovation is only the extended use of what others have decided for us.

Origin.

Quaric was born from a shared observation between practitioners and researchers : the technological chain that links a transistor to a running program has grown extremely complex, and mastery of its links has concentrated. The project does not propose to undo this. It proposes to rebuild the pieces that are missing, without contempt for those that work.

Philosophy.

Three principles hold the institution upright. Look at the past with respect, because nothing durable is built on contempt. Speak the present without submission, because no dependency is fated. Prepare the future without rush, because speed is not a goal in itself.

The manifesto develops these principles. It will be published separately.

Collective

A collective, not a figure.

Quaric is not carried by one person. The foundation gathers contributors from research, engineering, industry and the humanities. Governance is collegial ; its detail will be specified as commitments take formal shape.

The foundation gives itself the time to constitute properly. No list of names is published at this stage. It will be, when the list is right.

Carrier

Koperateur Consulting.

QUARIC has existed since 2018 as a body of work and prototypes carried by a collective, and was officialised in 2026. The project is carried and incubated by Koperateur Consulting, an independent digital engineering and consulting firm based in France. Koperateur operates in France and across Europe, in French and English, around a single commitment : to design, structure and deploy sovereign digital ecosystems.

Four principles guide the house that carries the foundation. Rigour, requiring that every decision be documented and every deliverable tested. Sovereignty, refusing vendor lock-in. Transparency, making costs, code and reports visible. Delivery, measuring value by what ships, not by what is promised.

QUARIC is the technical, philosophical and civilizational extension of this stance, scaled to the long term.
